Mount Fuji is volcano that is located on Honshu Island. The government in 2004 estimated if Mount Fuji erupted it "would affect more than 400,000 people around the Tokyo area." (RT) The cost would total around 31.25 billion dollars in damages. The dust from the volcano was said to travel more than 100 km and reach Tokyo, which could result in the national capital losing its ability to function for a while. (Wired Magazine reports). Mount Fuji is an example of a composite volcano.
